Honeysuckle Avenue

Our new/old home. The plans are complete and with Council so DH begins work in earnest. So we must have before and after shots ………………… here’s the almost before (less a few walls, doors, ceilings and floor coverings!). It’s mid February now, the plan is to be in before Christmas. That seems such a long time away!

Fruits of a weekend’s labour……….

rescue-girl-1.jpg valentine-box.jpg
Between endless loads of washing, a swimming carnival, friends and relatives visiting I did manage to get some scrapping done. Just for the fun of it I made a Valentine Box from scratch. Used a template downloaded from the ‘Net for the box and since I’m such a technoklutz when I tried to resize it I ended up with a rectangle box rather than a square one. I guess that’s what they mean by ‘thinking outside the box’! No?

I also completed a sketch layout. Gotta love sketches, other ppl’s ideas that I can interpret my own way. That’s it above – it’s Rescue Girl 2 or Rescue Girl Too. See, it’s definitely about equality in this family. Do a layout for one child, gotta do one for the other.

Rescue Girl

Rescue Girl

Since we’re very much into equal opportunity, here’s a photo of another family member. Certainly not a silly moment but a significant one as she completes her Surf Rescue Certificate and becomes a beach patrol member. Congratulaions chickie! Note she’s the only girl and only 4 out of the original 8 that started the training program successfully completed it - an extra special achievement.

Onion Girl

Onion Girl

Not my usual style or colour scheme but a favourite just the same as it shows just how silly a 14 year old can be! Wearing swim goggles while peeling onions! Then again……… maybe it’s being resourceful! :-)

Dragged kicking and screaming towards blogdom

Thought I’d never do it, I’m not the blogging kind,  but it’s almost become a necessity in order to establish an on-line presence and to share the things that are important to me (the journey towards our new home, scrapbooking, our unfolding lives).

Thank you Alita for giving me a gentle prod in this direction :-) and for the wonderful opportunity to further develop and share my passion for scrapbooking. I’m looking forward to being a part of your team! I am grateful.
